Welcome to the Eco Beach Clean Group website, an Isle of Wight Volunteer Group.

We are a self-funded group of volunteers and over the past few months, we have been working very hard behind the scenes setting up meetings, writing letters and gathering sponsors who would be prepared to assist us in this eco challenge.

We are pleased to say at this early stage, that Newport based Waste Disposal Company Tippy the Pickup Truck has agreed to be our main website sponsor. Tippy will be with us each step of the way as we aim to clear an Island Beach of harmful waste products that have been found locally. This is potentially lethal to our local wildlife and just as dangerous to the marine environment, sea birds and the eco-system.

The Isle of Wight County Press has also kindly agreed to report our progress and feature our development in the local paper.

Rowland Glaysher

We would like to include local Isle of Wight artist Rowland Glaysher who has supported us so far in our work. Rowland's website is Rolzart (www.rollzart.co.uk) and has proved to be so popular that he has converted the former chandlery Pascall Atkeys workshop in Cowes High Street into an art gallery and studio.

Because of the growing demand for his work, he set up his art studio in Cowes High Street near to the Red Jet terminal to Southampton. He has held many successful art exibitions.

You may catch sight of him on his way to work, sometimes by his vintage bicycle or driving around the island in various classic cars from his collection.

If any local or national artists would like to be included on the site, especially those who endose recycling, please contact me, Danny Burnip - 01983 530238 or danny@eco-beach-clean.co.uk

Help Needed

We desperately need local volunteers to help us in this beach cleaning campaign. We also need sponsors to help us run this site and to help us pay any inevitable expenses along the way. If you can help, please contact us at the top of the page. We look forward to hearing from you.

Many thanks,
Daniel Burnip - 01983 530238 or danny@eco-beach-clean.co.uk
